My Go-to Gluten Free Snacks

My Go-to Gluten Free Snacks

As someone with a serious sweet tooth, I tend to resort to chocolate if I don’t have snacks to hand, so I try to be prepared. Over the years I have discovered some gluten free snacks that I just can’t get enough of, so thought I would share them with you all.

Aside from being yum, I find that snacking helps me a lot with my tummy problems. If I go a long time without eating, I get bloating and pain when I do eat. Plus your brain doesn’t function as well when you’re hungry, so snacks are essential to get through working days. Put simply, snacks are the best!

Here are my favourite gluten free snacks.

Eat Natural Bars

I LOVE Eat Natural bars. I buy a pack of 3 each week, and have to fight the urge to eat them first thing in the morning when I get to work. My fave flavour is without a doubt the dark chocolate with cranberries and macadamia nuts. These are great for satisfying a sweet tooth, particularly the chocolate flavours!

Eat Real Hummus Chips/Quinoa Chips

I would go as far as to say that these are better than normal crisps. They are so full of flavour and have such a delicious crunch to them. My favourite flavour is the tomato and garlic hummus chips. The sour cream and chive flavour taste slightly like quavers, so definitely give those a try too.

Kind Bars

I do not like nuts, but somehow the geniuses at Kind have managed to make nuts taste like, well, heaven. I am a big fan of the salted caramel flavour and chocolate peanut butter flavour, which are both great sweet-tooth-deterrents. A little on the pricey side, but definitely worth it to beat the 3pm slump.

Rice cakes

I say rice cakes, I mean chocolate coated rice cakes. Rice cakes are bland, chocolate coated rice cakes are delicious little treats that you can kid yourself are healthy. I am a particular fan of the Tesco chocolate orange rice cakes.

Nakd Bars

There are literally a million flavours of nakd bars. Ok, not literally, but there are a lot. I’m a big fan of berry delight, and I hear that the new salted caramel flavour is dreamy. Don’t forget to try the bakewell tart flavour, which tastes just like someone smooshed a bakewell tart into a bar (yes, smooshed is a word).

Popchips

Popchips are delicious, pressurised potato chips that are much lighter than normal crisps. I am a big fan of the sweet chilli flavour! Popchips’ branding is as good as their chips, and I am a big fan of the packaging which explains how most chips reach a barbaric end in a deep fat fryer.

Alpro Go

For something a bit different, I love grabbing one of Alpro’s yoghurt pots with fruit coulis. These are absolutely delicious, and a great dairy free option too! There are four flavours, my faves are the berry and the passionfruit.
